Abstract
This paper is based on a morphological approach applied to construction in the urban perimeter of Várzea Grande-MT, where the new campus of the Federal University of Mato Grosso will be installed, with the objective of supporting the infrastructure construction project in order to minimize the impact on water resources. The development of an integrated diagnosis of the components of the physical environment allowed interpreting the water operation in the hillside and the dynamics of the processes associated with environmental impacts. The results, summarized in a map with five morphopedologic compartments, superimposed on the construction project of the campus, enabled us to detect potential environmental problems and to identify support actions necessary to minimize the impact on surface water resources.
